Feeding Reproducing Females:

Nature’s Select Multi Protein Dog Food has been fortified to meet the needs of reproducing (gestating and lactating) female dogs. Food consumption can vary during gestation and lactation, but reproducing females must eat enough food to maintain a good body condition. Expect intakes to increase 2 to 4 times the cups shown in the adult feeding guidelines during lactation.

Feeding Puppies:
Puppies start to nibble on solid food at three to four weeks of age. Use the feeding chart as a guideline. We recommend serving Nature’s Select dry food with warm water (three parts dry food, one part water) until weaned (6 to 8 weeks of age) Remove softened food after a couple of hours due to spoilage. Don’t let your puppy get too overweight and maintain an ideal body condition. Individual needs will vary with breed, activity, litter size and environmental temperature. Slight appetite changes are normal with puppies. Since Nature's Select foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Be sure to offer fresh, clean water daily. We recommend you take your pet to see your veterinarian annually.

Measure your scoop - how many ounces?

  • Puppies - Up to 6 months of age can eat twice as much as an adult dog at the same weight.
  • Pregnant dogs - Eat 50% more than their usual amount during the last three weeks of pregnancy.
  • Lactating dogs - May need as much as 3 times more food than usual to meet energy demands along with greatly increased consumption of water.
  • Proper feeding - Depending on the breed, size, and activity level, the amount of feeding may vary from dog to dog. Preventing obesity and providing sound nutrition will help keep your dog healthy and fit.

**ALWAYS KEEP A SUPPLY OF CLEAN WATER AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES!**

Transitioning Your Pet to Nature's Select: When transitioning your pet to a new food, do so slowly over a period of 7 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day.  The below transition guide will guide you through this process while helping to avoiding digestive issues & tummy trouble.

JoJo Loves It

JoJo, the greyhound loves this food now of course she is an absolute Hoover when it comes to her other kibbles, which is the chicken and rice recipe. I guess she loves them both. It does seem like her poops are a little bit harder with this stuff which is good.
